Valentine test of intelligence for children: Revision concernes

Abstract: The article presents a pilot study to suggest revisions of Slovenian form of Valentine Test of Intelligence for children. Some previous research have shown that some items did not meet content, design or linguistic standards of current intelligence tests for children. For this reason, we added some new items and test materials to test 116 children aged 3 to 7 years. The results confirmed some previous research to show that the difficulty of items decreases with generations of children and that mean IQ consequently increases. The evidence suggests that standard Binet-style test with developmental IQ ought to be replaced with deviational IQ which proved useful in the U. S. form of Binet-style test of intelligence for children, the Standford-Binet test, Fourth edition. The usefulness of further adaptation of the test is discussed.
